Technically speaking, it’s just about perfect

Some have called it the best solution under the sun. Others more modestly claim it simply does just what they need it to do./ Regardless, more and more manufacturers, engineers, scientists and chemists are learning about the technical qualities of UV/EB and calling it a solution for the 21st century.

When specially formulated UV/EB chemistries are added to coatings, adhesives and inks, most products can be cured using UV or EB.

Called “photopolymerization”, the ultra violet (UV) curing process is a photochemical reaction. Specially formulated inks, adhesives and coatings, mixed with a small percent of materials called photoinitiators, are exposed to a UV light source. Nearly instantly, they harden by cross-linking the liquid constituents. The results include decorative inks, tough clear coats, and adhesives with a variety of properties filling many different manufacturing needs. The results of UV cutting can be impressive; much less waste, lower energy consumption and higher productivity as well as reduced pollutant emissions.
